YOU GUYS AREN’T “DATA” TO US – YOU’RE FRIENDS. AND YOUR PRIVACY IS NO JOKE.
That being said, the main purpose for collecting each commenter’s email address back when comments were available (which always remained hidden once the comment was submitted) was so we knew you were a real person and not a spammer, and so we could personally reach out to you if you won one of our weekly giveaways (the vendor typically needed an email to send the prize).
If you wrote personal info like your full name or your email address in the body of your comment (or in the “Name” or “URL” field) this info can be viewed by anyone reading the comment section of that post. By contrast, your email address, as entered in the “E-mail” section of the comment form, always remained completely hidden from view and would never be shared.
If you send us an email, the address that you send it from will never be passed along either. So you won’t end up on some annoying mailing list or find tons of spam in your inbox. Our goal is to safeguard the privacy of all of our visitors and users. Please make sure you understand our practices before you use our site.

Please remember that any information you provide is not private. Any publicly posted information can be viewed, well, publicly, and could be viewed by anyone, including family, friends, media, investigators, and potential employers conducting background checks.
